He has not been sleeping well at night....he's been back to the night screaming, and waking up screaming every 30-45 minutes. It makes sleeping for Wes and I nearly impossible. During the day he has seemed fine. I thought maybe he was mad when he woke up with a stuffy nose from laying flat, which explained why he was fine during the day. No fever or other symptoms. But, I decided to take him to the doctor. It was right when he turned 5 months. He was 15 lbs, 11 ozs. And he has an ear infection! I hope he hasn't had it for very long..poor baby. Our doctor said that he may have a higher pain tolerance since he's delt with some tummy pain in the past, so he may not have cried as much as other babies would with ear infections.
Anyway, he's doing much better now. We can tell, because in the evening, when he's usually the fussiest, he sits in his swing and just talks up a storm. He has lots of new sounds! He goos, squeals, buzzes his lips, yells loudly, and smiles the whole time! He slept a lot better last night...he cried about every hour until 3:30am, when I fed him, and then he slept from 4-8 am. It was glorious!!! I woke up at 8am on my own, and I could hear him playing in bed. When I walked in his room and peeked over his crib, he greeted me with a great big smile and a giggle. So cute!
We decided to start some rice cereal, hoping it might help him fill up a bit more in the evening. It took about 5 days, but he's got the hang of it now. He likes it, and opens his mouth in anticipation now! We might try squash next week.
Always with the fingers in the mouth!

5 months already????? What a little sweetheart! I can't wait to see him again sometime!!!!
