We need a routine!

After 3 weeks of Sebastian not sleeping at night, I think we're on the right track. I'm not a scheduled person by nature, but it's been hard having absolutely no idea what the day is going to bring. Some days he sleeps all day, and I can't wake him up no matter what I do. Some days he doesn't sleep at all during the day except for a few short naps, and still doesn't sleep at night! I think finally, though, he's settling in to eating and napping during the day, and sleeping a little more at night. I've been averaging 3 hours of sleep a night, and haven't really been able to nap during the day. So I really hope he will sleep tonight! We go back to the doctor on Friday for his 1 month check-up. I'm excited to find out how much weight he's gained. I think he's growing!

Erin, Brian, and I took the kids on a bike ride and Sebastian in the stroller on Sunday. It was really beautiful outside, and there wasn't any wind!! Before we went, we had the kids hold Sebastian for some pictures. On Friday, my friend Khara from Kabloom studios came out and took Sebastian's newborn pictures. He was awake the whole time!! We kept waiting for him to fall asleep so we could pose him, but he was awake and alert! I'm excited to see the pictures, and I'll post the link when they're ready. In the meantime, right after Khara left, he fell asleep, so I took a couple of cute pictures of him that we weren't able to get.

  1. Kara, a friend of mine emailed me a book on how to get babies/toddlers to sleep through the night. It has some good advice for newborns to help you get into a night time routine. It really works! My kids were both a nightmare to put to bed and now that is the easiest part of my day! I would be happy to send you the book and the best part is that it's FREE! Let me know if you want it.
