11 months old!

We've been busy in the Baxter household! Now that Sebastian is mobile (and, of course, into everything!) we're busy trying to keep up with him. We don't have daycare for a couple of weeks, so I'm enjoying staying home with him while I get ready for Doane to begin. I'm teaching Violin at Doane this year, and I'm teaching a new class as well, so I'm preparing for those in addition to my regular classes. Exciting!

Sebastian's not really walking by himself, but he cruises freely between toys and furniture. He walks behind a push toy, and he runs in his walker! Wes "souped it up" by taking the brake pads off so he can run on the carpet now. Watch your toes!

We went on a trip to Colorado last weekend. I will post more on that later. Wes is getting ready for his big elk hunting trip, and Sebastian and I are looking forward to having Grandma Marlys here while Wes is gone.

Here are some pictures of us around the house. We spent Saturday at the Zoo in Omaha with Wes's cousin Nancy, her husband, Chad, and their daughter Jolie. Sebastian had a great time despite the heat (it was about 95 degrees!), and enjoyed the train ride and loved the aquarium. Here's Sebastian and I looking at the penguins. He laughed and laughed as they dove and swam past us!

Now that he's crawling, if his toys are on the other end of the bathtub, he just flips over and goes after them! He thinks it's hilarious.

Evidently, the laundry basket full of socks is a super-fun toy! He played in there emptying it out for about 30 minutes. Wes put him in there while I was making dinner....I wondered why it was so quiet!

Sebastian and Shadow have a common interest...laundry baskets are a barrel of wonders! Check out Shadow's cat toys he's brought into the basket with him. And yes, this is day two of Sebastian playing in the same laundry. I think they sat folded in the living room for 5 days. Sometimes that just how it goes!
First Spaghetti!
"Excuse me, mommy. Can you please open this gate so I can explore the wonders below?" (He then stood there looking down the stairs for 25 minutes, yelling and talking.)
This is our friends' Melinda and Spencer's oldest boy, Jacob. He stopped by to play with Sebastian....they have a really good time!
Sebastian and Jack have bonded. Jack lets him crawl all over him, pull his ears and tail, and he doesn't care at all. In fact, I think he likes the attention! What a good boy!
My concentrating face.
