Sledding and other winter fun!

138 135 129 329 321_crop 305 294 It's been hard to get much done around here since Sebastian started walking...actually, running...around the house! I apologize for the much overdue post.

We had a lot of fun in the snow on the days it wasn't too cold. Sebastian has been sledding a few times now, and he definitely a fan. We took him the first time just in our yard. He was so mad about getting all the snow gear on, I couldn't tell if he really liked it or not. Plus it was really snowing and he was pretty cold. It took me 30 minutes to get all of his snow clothes on, and then we were only outside for about 8 minutes! The second time we went sledding we went with Erin, Brian and the triplets to the dam on the lake by our house. It's a big hill...I can't believe I let a 1-year old go down that hill! Again, we couldn't really tell if he liked it or not. He just kind of sat there in the sled. He seemed cold, so I started carrying him to the car. He started crying, and I thought he was just tired because it was way past naptime. But once I took his mittens off, he started crying, and saying and signing "more, more more!" So I guess he liked it!

I'm busy back in school at Doane. I have 6 jazz voice students and 6 violin students, plus my group, so it's really keeping me busy. Also, Wes took me on a surprise weekend getaway for our 5th wedding anniversary. It was my first time away from Sebastian overnight (well overdue...I mean, come on. He's almost 17 months old! And he has me wrapped around his cute little finger. I balled like a baby when we dropped him off!). We went to Denver and stayed at a fancy hotel, with breakfast in bed! We had lots of fun, and it was nice to sleep in a little.

Sebastian had tubes put in his ears in late December, and he's been doing great with them. He got rid of a cold without getting an ear infection and ending up on antibiotics, for the first time. We are grateful for that. Our dog, Jack, had his ACL surgery last week. He's home and doing okay. It couldn't be worse timing with the weather...we have to take him out on a leash every time he needs out so he doesn't run around. This morning I took him out in my pajamas and snow boots...it was -8 degrees!! Wowsers!
